27 February 1966 - 21 June 1992

The day you died a light went out in my life
A light that you chose to extinguish yourself
A light that you could not continue to bear
I knew something of the reasons for your strife
The pain of living a lie; ill health
The double life that you could not share.

You treated me badly at times but I loved you just the same.
I only remember the good times now
But perhaps that was ever the case
We played at love; your little game
Which I played along with and how
For your love for me was true; not base

You took your life on midsummer day
Alone at home while I worked
I came and found you hanging there
Your timing was bad; ever your way
You waited and waited; the moment you shirked
Until you heard me on the stair

I know you did not mean to die
It was simply a cry from the heart
As ever was your painful way
But now in Earth you coldly lie
Where I will join you one day, never to part
I miss you James and remember every day.

All my love

Dave.

James was my partner and lover for 4 years. He took his own life on Midsummers day 1992 while waiting to undergo psychiatric evaluation for possible treatrment for severe depression.
