Above and left - Four views of Lindisfarne Priory, home of St. Cuthbert and regarded as one of the most sacred religious sites in Britain. This priory is 13th century replacement for the original Saxon Priory
Above and above right - Bambrough Castle. This building was built in the 12th century and Badly damaged during the English Civil War, being the first castle to be captured using cannonfire. It was extensively remodelled by the Armstrong family in the Victorian period. The site was the capital of the Saxon and pre-saxon Kings of Northumbria.
